Skirmish

In order to view some screenshots of a 3vs3 match against the AI in action please klick here. The latter acts pretty clever and attacks the player for instance from several sides. But the allied Polish also don't stay passive and join the player attacking the enemy base. If you are able to defeat the AI in Napoleonic Wars on "very hard" easily, a skirmish match against 5 AI controlled enemies will provide you with a new challenge and will last but not least prepare you for nerve-racking 2vs2 and 3vs3 multiplayer matches on "No Way Out" and "The Four Kings".

By the way the battle takes place in a wonderful winter scenery. The graphical variety of Battle for Europe is also visible on the Map "Desert", where two human players match each other. The battle breaks out for several oasis, which are guarded by Arabian militias.

All in all there will be 8 new skirmishmaps as well as 3 new Battle-Maps (Waterloo, Borodino and Leipzig) in BfE. The new skirmish maps are visible on the menu screen here. Besides the exclusive BfE-features and maps, of course the new nations (Rhine, Spain and the Duchy of Warsaw) are now shown in action. Check it out!

The extended Battle for Europe-Mode

The 2nd part of our "Cossacks 2 - Battle for Europe" series deals with the "Battle for Europe" (BfE) mode, which will be extended by new sectors, nations and quests. The challenging Cossacks 2 free campaign combines round based strategic decisions and diplomacy with the realistic tactic mode.

23 screenshots on the top-theme are available here.

The excitement of the expansion is highly based on the different start positions of the three new playable nations (all in all 9) Poland (the Duchy of Warsaw), the Rhine Confederacy and the Kingdom of Spain. Situated on the Iberian Peninsula, the Spanish own a pretty optimistic strategic position, while playing as a German sovereign the player has to prove a certain diplomatic instinct. Your mission is to survive more than just a few rounds in the heart of Europe being encircled by the three great powers of that time France, Prussia and Austria.

The Duchy of Warsaw is in quite a similar position as the Rhine States: The Polish sectors are encircled by the main continental coalition force, consisting of Russia, Austria and Prussia. We decide in favour of a direct confrontation with Mother Russia and try at the same time to avoid a confrontation in the West making use of peace agreements and non aggression treaties (which are active for a certain amount of rounds). After having fled to his Austrian Allies after the final fall of Moscow, Alexander I is pursuited by the Polish army facing the remaining coalition forces on battlefield. After this final defeat, the Russian Empire has vanished and also the Austrians surrender. View the shots of this exciting campaign by klicking here.

Singleplayer Campaigns

In addition to the free campaign (the Battle for Europe mode), the stand-alone addon offers four new, historical campaigns with 4-5 missions each. Klick >>>here<<< for 29 extracts from the French and the Spanish campaign.

On the side of the French, after Napoleon's return from Elba it's on you to lead the Hundred Days Campaign. Will you manage to beat the Iron Duke? In opposition the Spanish want to expel the French occupiers from the Iberian Peninsula, the French being especially threatened by the dangerous Spanish guerrilla.

Besides the French and the Spanish, you'll also take command over the Rhine Confederacy ("The road to Vienna") and the Duchy of Warsaw ("The Honour of the Polish Crown") in their fight against the coalition.

The campaigns offer a variety of missions: The player will have to be keen on base building, as well as succeed in epic battles, capture enemy fortress, consist in guerrilla fights and take care of famous generals like Marshall Ney and Bonaparte himself. The dialogues between the Generals, which are displayed on some screens, will also be played over audio.

All in all the four new single player campaigns provide the player with more than 20 hours of great Napoleonic history.
